Did You Know?

  • India faced the worst ever “ Gender ” crisis in its history.

  • There are only 945-947 females per 1000 males per recent census published by the Govt. Of India.

  • Medical community & local police authorities/administration have been active participants in this crime.

“SAVE THE GIRL CHILD” INTERVENTION 

  1. Datamation Foundation chose not to be a silent spectator. We played a leadership role in the “Save the Girl Child “ campaign.

  2. A web site dedicated to female foeticide.  www.indiafemalefoeticide.org was launched voluntarily & subsequently adopted by the Govt. of India 

  3. Complaint lodging process. 

  4. Hyper-linking the indiafemalefoeticide.org site to other relevant sites world-wide. 

  5. Dissemination of the complaints to regional authorities for tracking complaints.

  6. Net-based pledge & support enlistment from the community. 

  7. Mass-scale email broadcasts ( Over10  6 million homes & medical professionals bureaucrats, lawmakers covered to far). 

  8. Implemented ICT based pilots for the fieldwork, counselling & capacity building of the self-help group (SHGs), volunteers & counsellors. 

  9. Integration of ICTs in the overall communication & awareness campaign.

  10. Web-casting of films on female foeticide & dissemination from the site.
