KIRAN MODI, MENTOR-MOTHER, UDAYAN GHAR 1 FOR GIRLS

"These children of mine have brought so much joy into our lives: smiling through their loves and despairs.  Being a Mentor Mother is making me go through all the excitement of parenting (the tears too!) that I first experienced when I brought up my own biological children.

At Udayan Care, we believe in a three pronged approach - mental health strategy, academics and parenting.  I enjoy teaching the children, basking in the pleasure of their discovery of new horizons of knowledge; I remain involved with our mental health team in ensuring the best for the children; and parenting, well of course, that is the greatest joy."

Kiran is a PhD in Literature from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi.  She has been a breakfast show presenter on National television, a community newspaper publisher and editor and has taught English at the undergraduate level at a  Delhi University college.  She has interests in dance, art and theatre.

ISABELLE SAHNI, MENTOR-MOTHER, UDAYAN GHAR 1 FOR GIRLS

Isabelle Sahni, originally from the United Kingdom, married an Indian gentleman and then chose to make India her home. "I have noticed that, as a result of my interaction with the children for their studies, they slowly put their trust in me and some of them start talking to me about their current problems as well as their lives before they came to Udayan Care," says Isabelle.
